SEO Blogging 101 – How to Write Better Blog Posts for People and Spiders

A blog post is meant to be a quick (350-500 words), easily digestible read with at-a-glance formatting that’s written for regular people.  A blog post can be bold, opinionated and authoritative so don’t hold back.

Your ‘spin on things’ is actually what makes a blog a blog and why people like reading them in the first place.  Speak your mind, be engaging and be the ”authority.”

Blog posts are best when they are brief and to the point.  Remember, you are not writing a dissertation, a thesis or an e-book.

Writing Multiple SEO Blog Posts on One Topic

Think granular.  Don’t try and jam everything you know or want to say into one post.  Break up larger topics into easily digestible, bite size posts that are are interlinked and publish them over time.

When writing multiple posts on one topic, make sure you give each post a unique title so they are not seen as “duplicate” or “redundant content” by search engine spiders and ignored in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages).

If you write short, engaging SEO blog posts, you won’t overwhelm your site visitors with too much information at one time; you’ll have more opportunities to brand your name and/or promote your website; and you’ll have more fresh content (fodder) for search engine spiders to crawl.

SEO Blog Posts and Article Marketing

Blog posts are actually the first level of article marketing and one of the best ways to promote your website.  A steady stream of relevant posts that include a marketing plug and links back to website landing pages will help you build authority, brand your name and drive traffic to your website.

Adding Images to SEO Blog Posts

GET FOUND NOW is a big fan of adding images to blog posts and for several good reasons.  Images break up blocks of content which can be a turn off to site visitors.  Images visually enhance your blog post and give your readers a place to rest their eyes.

Images can also be used for search engine optimization if you title them correctly because the title is what the search engines are going to see.

You never want to copy a published image you find on the web and paste it into your post because the search engines are reading the image code from were you snagged it from.  Always copy and save images as a file, then download the image file to your content management system or blog.

Using Header Tags within SEO Blog Posts

Similar to adding images, utilizing h2, h3 and h4 header tags within your post will help break up and compartmentalize blocks of content into bit size chunks.  Header tags also give you more SEO juice if  used correctly.

When creating header tags within a blog post, you should incorporate whatever is in your h1 header tag or the main title of your blog post

For example, the main title of this post is “Blogging 101 – How to Create Blog Posts for People and Spiders.”  If you noticed,  I have used “blog posts“ in each header tag so the search engines know unequivocally what this post is about – “blog posts.”

I hope the information contained in this post will help you write better blog posts for people and more effective blog posts for search engine spiders.

You mention All-in-One SEO Pack but fail to explain fully what it is and where to find it. Whether it is a plugin or can be obtained some other way. That information would be very helpful for those interested in using it.
